Our products are designed to reduce friction
Most parts are made of high quality plastic, but Timco also supplies precision parts
made of metal for steel mills and wire processing equipment.
Timco also supplies very detailed engineering services, especially where the new part
is made from a different material than the one it replaces.
Reduced Friction
Timco parts reduce friction in more than one way:
- Use of suitable plastic with low coefficient of friction
- Use of precision lubrication pumps to supply correct continuous lubrication without over lubrication
- Use of roller bearings designed for free rotation over a very wide temperature range up to 900°C = 1650°F
- Use of light weight engineering plastic to reduce component inertia to reduce wear.
What makes Timco engineering plastics stand out?
- Low coefficient of friction
- Good sliding features
- Ability to withstand high impact load
- Good corrosion resistance and chemical resistance
- Low weight (Nylon is approximately 1/7 of Steel)
- Favorable price/performance ratio
- Reduction of noise and vibration = Wear reduction
