UHMW-PE
Timco offers parts that provide both performance and economy when machined from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE). UHMW-PE is a high density polyethylene with a very high degree of polymerization, produced under use of Zeigler-catalysts according to Phillips method. The molecular weight of UHMW PE-1000 measured by light scattered method is in the region of 3.5 - 4 million g/mol. It is ideal for designers who want to improve equipment efficiency. By using UHMW-PE, noise and vibration can be reduced without compromising mechanical strength. Equipment with UHMW-PE components runs quietly and requires no special care as parts can be cleaned with water, steam, detergents, or disinfectants. UHMW-PE is self-lubricating and FDA compliant.
