Cribbing Plates

For many years, Timco has supplied cribbing plates (also known as outrigger pads) made of PE1000, a strong and lightweight engineering plastic. These plates give solid support to the outrigger and avoid the formation of "bird baths" on the pavement. They can be handled and stowed without difficulty.

Cribbing Plates made of engineered plastics offer the following advantages:

Lightweight

They are lighter than steel parts (1/7th the weight of steel). PE-1000 black weighs 1/4 of the weight of aluminum.

Strength

Cribbing plates of PE-1000 can handle up to 3000psi of compressive load. A 24" X 24" X 1.5" plate can carry over one million lbs of load*

Corrosion resistance

Tired of replacing rotten wooden plates? Timco's plates will never corrode, rust or absorb moisture. They also resist chemical corrosion.

Minimum water absorption

No weight increase due to exposure to the elements or wet ground. The material does not conduct electricity.

Resilience

PE-1000 resists breakage, will not crack due to slight variations of the ground**

Shape retention

The material has a memory, does not mushroom or warp.

*We recommend that cribbing plate surface area be at least three times larger than the surface area of the outrigger float pad.
**Cribbing plates of PE-1000 are not to be used to bridge across ditches or culverts.
